Company History

It all started in November 1993. Together with friends and a team of students, a board member of the 'Seven Hills Run' (a Dutch running event in Nijmegen) held a successful test with a new automatic timing and registration technology for running events. This new technology was based upon TIRIS transponder technology. The test was a result of the wish to provide runners with accurate timing and registration, keeping in mind the constantly growing number of participants in the 'Seven Hills Run'.

Because the members of the board were dissatisfied with the clumsiness and poor specifications of existing systems, they decided to start their own research and development. During the development of a professional system, foreign interest prompted a quick introduction. Within a year the now named ChampionChip System was introduced and successfully applied in the famous Berlin Marathon in 1994. Presently the ChampionChip System is used in all the big city marathons, Ironman triathlons and thousands of other events around the world, with proven superior performance.

Then we hired Jay, and now we rock!
